Exodus 16 – Bread to Eat

 

Five Areas of Learning from the OT
1. Learn the historical narrative.
2. See each passage in context of the “grand story of redemption”.
3. Learn about the greatness of our God.
4. Learn faith lessons from men of faith (or from men of no faith).
5. Types and Shadows of the Gospel and NT doctrines (or repeating themes).

 

Sins
1. They forgot God’s faithfulness in the past.
2. They forgot God’s powerful works in the past.
3. They are not trusting God…His goodness nor His promises.
4. They are trusting in themselves.
5. They have lost sight of the future God promised.
6. They attribute evil intentions to God/His servants.
7. They desire the comforts of Egypt over the plan of God.

 

The Testing of God
1. Will they trust that I am God?
2. Will they trust Me to provide all their needs?
3. Will they trust Me to DAILY supply their needs?
4. Will they trust that My provision is much better than what they had in Egypt?
5. Will they trust Me by listening carefully to My word?
6. Will they learn and grow from what I want to teach them through this?
