Exodus 20 – The Giving of the Law

 

Revealing the Glory of God

1. You shall have no other gods before Me.
– He alone is the one true God.
2. You shall not make for yourself an idol.
You shall not bow down or worship them.
– He is a limitless God. He is unimaginable.
3. You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.
– He is Holy in all His attributes.
4. Remember the Sabbath, to keep it holy.
– He provides eternal rest in Christ.
5. Honor your father and mother.
– He is the perfect Father.
6. You shall not murder.
– He is Life; the Author of life.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
– He is eternally faithful.
8. You shall not steal.
– He is our Provider.
9. You shall not bear false witness.
– He is the Truth.
10. You shall not covet.
– He is all sufficient.
