6 Truths of Sin and Forgiveness as Seen in Mark 2:1-12

 

1. All sin is against God.

– All sin is a transgression of the Law…and against the Lawgiver.

 

2. Therefore, only God can truly forgive sin.

 

3. If Jesus can forgive sin, He is God in human flesh.

 

4. Jesus had the authority as God to forgive this man’s sins

– but also, because He alone is the atoning sacrifice for sins;

– and He alone is resurrected and living in those He saves.

 

5. Jesus Christ has the sovereign authority to apply the atonement to anyone He wishes.

 

6. Our greatest need is to have our sins forgiven.
