1 Thessalonians 4

What does it mean that God taught them to love one another?

1.  God is love. Agape love is not human. So, it is only God who is able to teach them to love.

– He Sources Love

2.  God demonstrated love for them through the cross.

– He Exemplifies Love

3.  God places His saints into a body, the church, where we are loved and learn to love.

– He Gives Opportunity to Love

4.  God has put His law in our minds and inscribed it on our hearts. Love is the summation of the law.

– He Internally Instructs Love

5.  God placed His Spirit in them. Love is His work in them.

– He Powers Love

6.  God taught them through His apostles and His word.\

– He Externally Instructs Love
